HOW TO:Managing CSP\Office 365 Tenants

This article provides brief detail to manage CSP service i.e. how to add & manage Skype for business Users, Shared\Resource Mailboxes etc. under CSP tenant.

Below KB article provides summary on CSP Service Plan Creation and Provisioning of CSP Tenant or how to subscribe a CSP service.​​
Management of CSP Tenants
  • Navigate to the following path: Home » Service Director » Microsoft CSP Management » Accounts.
  • From Options column select Manage as shown below:

  • Send CSP Invitation: Send CSP Invitation email which include Invitation link to customers.

  • Under "General Settings" tab, you can Edit, Sync All with Microsoft CSP, Sync domains, licenses, policies and roles.

Adding Users, assigning roles, Licenses etc.
  • In order to add Skype for business Users, Click on Add User as shown below: 

  • Provide users primary details in Add User section as shown below:

  • In Settings section, assign Role and select Role, provide Sign-In Status etc.

  • In Licenses section, Select location and select licenses.


  • Now you can Select Exchange and Skype for business properties. Save when done.

Important Note: If you get following error on adding User : Error in syncing SfB user. Details: Error in fetching SfB user from Office 365. Details: Error Processing command: The remote name could not be resolved.

Creating Shared\Resource Mailboxes:

Similarly, you can Add Shared and Resource Mailboxes under their respective tabs.

  • Provide Display Name, UPName, select Licenses, provide Exchange properties and Save.


Click Plus sign to expand and set required Exchange Properties. It includes

  2. Customer Attributes
  3. Email Addresses
  4. Mailbox Features
    1. Policies
      1. Sharing Policy
      2. Role Assignment Policy
      3. Retention policy
      4. ActiveSync enabled
    2. Email Connectivity
      1. OWA
      2. IMAP
      3. POP3
      4. MAPI
      5. Mailbox Archive
    3. Mail Flow Settings
      1. Enable email forwarding
    4. Message Size Restrictions
      1. Maximum sent message size (KB)
      2. Maximum received message size (KB)
    5. Message Delivery Restrictions
      1. Accept messages from
      2. Require that all senders are authenticated
      3. Reject message from
  5. Permissions
    1. Send As
    2. Full Access
  6. Member of
  7. Calendar Permissions

Select the Skype for Business features you would like to have for the Shared Mailbox. It includes

  1. General Settings
  2. External Communications
  3. Dial-in Conferencing
Creating Resource Mailboxes (Room, Equipment)
  • Under Resource Mailboxes tab you can select Room and Equipment Mailboxes as shown below:

Provide User Display Name and User Principal Name.In Licenses Section, Select location and select licenses.

Provide Exchange Properties and select other features as required. Click Save when done.

Adding Contacts

You can add Mail contacts by clicking Add Mail Contact and Sync all With Microsoft CSP as shown below:

Creating Distribution Groups:
You can add new Distribution Groups as well as "Sync All with Microsoft CSP" under Groups tab as shown below:

  • Under General settings section provide Group Type. Following types of Group can be added for CSP tenants

    1. Distribution Groups
    2. Dynamic Distribution Groups
    3. Mail Enabled Security Groups
    4. Security Groups
    5. Office365 groups

    Provide Display Name, Email Address, Group Alias, Privacy and Group owner.

  • You have following options under Distribution Groups:
  1. Group Members
  2. Delivery Management
    1. Choose who can send messages to this group
    2. Accept message from
    3. Reject message from
  3. Group Delegation
  4. Email Options

Group Actions

The customer can also view Completed and Pending\Failed group actions. He can use search filter for all types of Actions and Status as shown below:

Account Information

The Account information can be updated.

  • Microsoft Cloud Agreement: Click Update for existing tenants

  • Click Update to update customer information like First Name, Last Name, Email and Phone.
  • Under section Bill-to-Info: Provide the detail to which billing information sent to.
  • Company Information: Provide details for a company.
Adding SharePoint Site
  • Click Add Site to add a SharePoint site, once the site has been added. You can Add User, Groups and Permission level etc.

  • Following Group operation are available for SharePoint Users
