The Migration guide guides how to migrate the mailbox items (emails, folders and etc..), but it doesn’t replicate the mailbox settings such as group membership, calendar permissions and etc. To replicate the mailbox configuration settings, this separate desktop utility is created (Please see attachment) which can be used to collect and compile the configuration/settings data of the selected mailboxes, distribution lists and mail contacts in data files in JSON format on source exchange server. These files then can be imported in control panel

  1. Download and unzip Exchange Migration Utility.zip on Source Exchange Server.
  2. Launch ExchangeMigrationUtility.exe.
  3. Specify Source Exchange Server domain details

Preferred Domain controller is Optional, you can also choose if Entire Forest must be searched by checking checkbox shown above. Click Next
  4. All the Mail-domains will be loaded, domain of choice can be filtered using Search filed (it starts locating as soon as you type),
you can also make use of Select All, Clear All buttons as well

Check the checkbox(es) against one or more mail-domain(s) and click Next
  5. All mailboxes will get loaded accordingly, again you can make use of Search filed, Select All, Clear All buttons

Select the desired mailbox (es), Click Get button(This will create script for selected Mailbox(es) ), click Next.
  6. Similarly get script for Distribution lists by Searching, checking checkbox(es) against DLs

Click Get and then Next buttons
  7. And for Mail Contacts as well, Search, check the checkbox(es)

Click Get and then Next buttons
