Virtual Machine and Snapshots Management

Summary

This article provide a summary for virtual machine management, snapshots & bandwidth management in MachPanel.

This article applies to MachPanel build v5.3.10 and above

Pre-requisites

Before you can manage Virtual Machines/Network and Snapshots you need to follow below steps:

• Step-1: Integrate Hyper -V Servers in MachPanel
• Step-2: Add Sealed images in Setup
• Step-3: Add Subnet Pools (Public , Private IP addresses), Add DNS Pools & Add Virtual Switches
• Step-4: Add Hyper -v Products/Service plan.
• Step-5: Finally create customer & sell VPS Product to customer and add a VPS account.

Virtual Machine and Snapshots Management

• You can manage hosting services for hyper-v by clicking on the Service Management link from the following path: Home >> Service Director >> VPS Hosting >> VPS Accounts. See the snapshot below:

• Under Dashboard tab, you can view the general settings of the VPS (Hyper-v) account such as subscription ID, account info etc.
• You can also associste the Sealed image/ ISO image to the VM. See the snapshot below for more details:

• You can manage following machine operations under Management tab:

1. Turn Off
2. Shut Down
3. Hard Reset
4. Save
5. Pause
6. Change Password
7. WebConsole (Enhanced Session Mode Enabled/Disabled)
8. Sync VM
9. Move To, Quick/Live Migration (Cluster)

Under General Tab,

• You can see details related to VM Generation, Host name, OS, Image,  etc.
• You can view Statistics of a Machine

Note: Sync VM and Quick Migration option is shown in cluster environment and Sync VM option is shown in non-cluster environment. When you hover on it, it will show you the servers from the same server group (except the server on which currently vps created).

 Memory Management

• You can also change Memory, number of processors by clicking on the Change button. Further we have also have given following option in latest build:

• When the Machine is turned off you can also check and update: "Migrate to Physical Computer with different Processor Version".

Disk Management

• You can also Add new disk by clicking on Add Disk button. You can Remove,Expand and Move the Hard Disk.

• "Apply changes inside VM" checkbox to Add/Expand Disk for Windows VMs. If checked, a reboot is required; otherwise, no reboot is needed.

Network Management 

You can also Add NIC Public and Private IP's under Networks section. In NIC detail we are showing:

1. IP Pool Name of NIC
2. IP's
3. Subnet
4. Gateway
5. VLanId
6. NIC Disable due to band width over use.
7. Mac Address

You can also manage virtual networks i.e. can add NIC - IP address (Private and public) .

• You can manage Trunk Port configuration in NIC Management for Providers

Boot Order 

You can Add Boot Order, Move boot order up & down. Click Save when done.

Snapshots/CheckPoints

• Snapshots are available for both Standalone Servers and Clusters.

• Under the Snapshots tab you can manage snapshots and can perform the following operations:

1. Refresh List
2. Take Snapshot
3. Delete snapshot
4. Apply snapshot

Attach ISO:

You can also attach an ISO.

Bandwidth Details

Bandwidth Details tab shows bandwidth allowed per month for a VPS, total bandwidth used in a selected date range:

Change Password

Startup Settings

• You can review startup settings as well.

Schedule:

You can add a schedule for a VM.
