This article provides information about how to successfully activate BlackBerry v.5.0 services in MachPanel.

Symptoms

Getting the ERROR message,

java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError.com/rim/bes/brk/besuseradmin/BESUserAdminMain Exception in Thread "main" while attempting to activate the BlackBerry 5.0 Service under the Wireless Service Activation tab found in Wireless Account under Wireless Services in MachPanel.

Solution

To successfully activate the BlackBerry v.5.0 Services, kindly perform the following steps.

Step 1: Navigating to the following Path

After the successful installation of BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool Setup, navigate to the following path:

C:\Program Files\Research In Motion\BlackBerry Enterprise Server Resource Kit\BlackBerry Enterprise Server User Administration Tool\

Step 2: Copying the file BESUserAdmin.jar

Copy the file BESUserAdmin.jar as shown in the Attachment

Step 3: Pasting the copied file

Paste the copied file into the following folder:

• C:\Windows\System32 (for 32-bit installation)

• C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (for 64-bit installation)

Billing Management Questions

1) I am already using a third party billing and am happy with that?
We have a very comprehensive billing module that offers you all the required functionality on billing. You can automate all your processes, everything including billing is being managed from our control panel but if you want, you can switch off billing and carry on using billing outside of the control panel.

Pro-rated & Non-prorated billing methods
You can bill in any currency.
Anti-fraud filters
Multiple payment gateway support.
Tax & VAT support
Automatic invoice for new and recurring account etc

2) Can you integrate any third party billing or help desk for me?
Our system comes with a very comprehensive billing and help desk module which is built in part of our solution thus you do not incur any costs using them. Unfortunately right now we do not have any plans for third party billing or help desk integration but we can look into this for future.

3) Which payment gateway do you support?
We do support Authorize.net, PayPal, Moneris, World pay etc but if you are using any other payment gateway that is not supported, we can integrate that for you without any cost.

Customer Support Questions

1) What support options are available?
Standard e-mail based support is available for all clients having SSA. SSA enables MachPanel product support, delivery of HotFixes and Patches, It also includes all kinds of installation / configuration issues within the product. We will not be responsible for any installations / configurations beyond our product support, for this we have Premium Support option.

There are two licensing options to purchase, one is Perpetual License (One time plus annual renewal) and Monthly Leased License (Should be paid on monthly basis). The core system and extensions have their own license scheme and should be purchased separately.

4) What is the difference between the HEE Stand-alone flavor and the HEE HMC 4.0/4.5 flavor?
HEE Standalone is the complete replacement of HMC where HEE works directly with Exchange server 2007 providing service provisioning, billing and management options.

HEE HMC flavor depends on HMC 4.0/4.5 for the service provisioning only. The billing and service management is completely done from within MachPanel.

5) Why Active Directory License is required??
Active Directory License is required for each active directory to managed from MachPanel. Since MachPanel can manage services across multiple Active Directory domains therefore each domain added to MachPanel requires its license to function and controlled from the control panel.

6) Why Remote Server license is required?
MachPanel's Remote Server is installed on each remote server that needs be controlled from within MachPanel. Each remote server required a remote server license to function.

7) Should I expect to receive a license key when I purchase license?
License key is pushed directly from License Server onto your MachPanel installation. You should receive a confirmation e-mail within 24hour of your purchase along with instructions on how to activate license. It is usually just click of a button.

Client Access Licenses (CALs) are license restrictions regarding the customers you can provision through our system. Mail Access Licenses (MALs) are the license restriction of number of mail boxes you can provision through MachPanel.

2. Does MachPanel provision Hosted Exchange 2007 service?
Yes, MachPanel does control and provision Hosted Exchange 2007 service. For this, Hosted Exchange Extension (HEE) license is required.

3. What is difference between Hosted Exchange Extension (HEE) HMC flavored and Standalone?
MachPanel supports provisioning of Hosted Exchange directly on Exchange 2007 or through Microsoft HMC 4.0/4.5. If you insist on using HMC 4.0/4.5 as your provisioning engine and MachPanel as only billing and management control panel then HEE HMC/MPC extension will be required.

4. Do I need to have Microsoft HMC 4.0/4.5 with your HEE-stand alone?

To update MachPanel remote server to latest version, please follow the steps mentioned below:

Open MachPanel Remote Configuration Studio.
Then go to the following navigation path in MachPanel Remote Configuration Studio: Configure >> Software Updates.
Click Check Available Updates button under Update Software tab on right pane of configuration studio.
Then click on Download button.

Note: If the the MachPanel remote configuration studio isunable to locate latest update after above mentioned procedure. Followbelow mentioned steps to carry out the same:

Step 1: Change Remote Server Core Version

Go to Run.
Write regedit and press enter.
Then follow the path : HkEY_LOCAL_MACHINE >> SOFTWARE >> MachSol >> Remote Configuration Studio.
Then open CoreVersion file on right pane.
At the end change Value data field to <latest version without dots> e.g. if the version is 4.0.36 change Value data field to 4036

Important: If you are updating form MachPanel Remote Server v.3.1.10, please download and copy ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll from
http://www.machsol.com/downloads/program/update/ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dlland place it in your MachPanel Remote Server installation folder. Closeand open Remote Configuration Studio. You should skip this step if youare updating from MachPanel Remote Server v.3.1.18 or later.
